(And, hopefully, citizen scientists do not lose too much time and resources on perpetual motion machines or homeopathic remedies.) These are only a few scientific programs citizens can participate in.
  • The White House is looking for scientists and citizens accepting nominations for outstanding individuals who have had a significant impact on society. The White House will host the event champions Citizen Science around the June 4, 2013 - to get their applications before the end of April. [Url]
  • If you love ants, here is your chance to have a say to a common name of the species of ant
Forelius pruinosus

. Anyone can vote in the first four names: Barricade ants, lock, lunch or ant ant road. (Vote by April 30!) [URL]

citizen scientists have presented draft Scistarter for a contest earlier this year, and the grand prize was a device that creates water fuel. Not exactly a Mr. Fusion, but water decomposed into hydrogen and oxygen is still an orderly demonstration. [URL]
