Post Office to introduce contactless payment

people who buy goods and services through any branch of Posts will soon be able to use the contactless credit and debit cards and payment-enabled mobile phones.
Post will begin to deploy contactless payment terminals through its network of 11,500 branches of June 6, in a move that will make the biggest user of acceptance of contactless technology in Europe. The initial release will be completed in late October.

contactless technology allows customers to pay for goods by waving their card in a specially designed handset sales without the need for a pin.
Once installed, MasterCard PayPass or Visa payWave cardholders will be able to use the drives, and the limited number of people with Near Field Communication (NFC) for mobile phones. Payments using the technology will be limited to a maximum of 20 pounds.
HSBC recently became the latest bank to begin arming its customers with contactless cards. In May, began the gradual deployment of these cards to customers that their current cards expire.
