postheadericon Government's e-petition website crashes on first day

Strongly supports e-petitions, the backbenchers Business Committee in the hope that the time for questions to be voted on and can be discussed not only assigned to be delivered.

The Labour chairman of the committee, Natascha Engel welcomed the attempt by Parliament to the public again but added she was worried the government was "the creation of demand and the expectation that can not meet".

She said the committee had time to stage a debate promised a week ago, but had been in practice less than a day in the month. "There is a real concern that we do not have the time, as a backbench committee, as it is to the existing demand for backbench debates stage, and so hold government to account," she said.

She added that they ask the government to accelerate its commitment to the establishment of an elected House Business Committee in 2013, responsible for oversight of all parliamentary time in the Commons.

Boy 's office said he was only able to guarantee, angel 35 backbenchers day session, but said if the session was longer than normal, he would try to seek more days after the end of the session.
