postheadericon Belkin AC 1200 DB 802.11ac router review: A model that's not quite ready for prime time


If you balk at the idea of ??spending almost $ 400 to buy a router and a bridge 802.11ac 802.11ac to go with it, Belkin is a cheaper solution for you. I used a laptop equipped with a 2.5GHz Intel AVADirect Core i5-3210m processor, 4GB memory and an Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 Wi-Fi adapter to run my benchmark tests. Ultimate-N 6300 can simultaneously send and receive three spatial streams 150 Mbps (450 Mbps total), most of the adapters are limited to handling two (300 Mbps total). The reference next two races took place inside my home theater. This is a design room-within-a room with four walls of 2-by-4 framing and drywall inside the four walls of 2-by-6 frame and drywall, with about 6 inches air insulation fiberglass and death separates them. It aims to optimize the acoustics of the room, not to build a Faraday cage, but many small routers and other wireless devices have trouble penetrating. However, none of 802.11ac routers that I tested had some trouble getting the customer in this room, and the router Belkin Buffalo really dominated while the customer was on the coffee table in the room.

As many people will want to connect your computer to your home entertainment system to a network 802.11ac, I decided to measure the performance of TCP with the Bridge media inside the cabinet in my home theater equipment (floor to ceiling, wall to wall cabinet consists of cabinet grade plywood including the back). As the table below shows, the performance of TCP 1200 CA DB dropped by nearly half in this place, but still provided more than enough bandwidth to transmit wireless mount an ISO image from Blu-ray

AC DB 1200 slightly better results when I moved the client and bridge media for the first of my two locationsâ outdoor test???? In the real world, I doubt that anyone attempting to build a bridge of communication outside because dragging the bridge and the search for a solution (and probably an extension) are too annoying. Again, Belkin has finished in last place, because of its dual radio flux.

My second picnic table was located completely outside of my house. At this point, the router and the client was 75 feet away and separated by three interior walls insulated exterior wall insulation and coated on one side with fiber cement board. Under these conditions, the reference 802.11n router TCP performance offered only 30.2 Mbps, but realizes Belkin router TCP performance mbpsâ 78.2???? Much better performance than the Buffalo WZR-1800H managed. The first place finisher at this point, D-Link DIR-865L, 152 Mbps delivered surprising.

Benchmarking performance 802.11n 2.4GHz

Most routers I tested at 2.4 GHz channel bonding mode back low due to the presence of other routers use the same spectrum, but the Belkin AC 1200 and stuck their arms provide a bandwidth of 40 MHz continues.
