About Me
Top Pirate Party Member Has DMCA Takedown Notices Issued In Her Name
Julia Schramm is one of the rising stars of the German Pirate Party: in April, when he was only 27 years old, was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Party. Not surprising, then, that it is against the copyright law: a podcast describing intellectual property as "disgusting" The most surprising is that, despite this, she signed a contract with Knaus Verlag, part of giant edition (original in German). Random House to write a book. Perhaps the $ 130,000 advance had something to do with it.
The book is called "Click me: confessions of an exhibitionist Internet" and it sells for about $ 22 (? 18 for the Kindle version), which seems a bit expensive for only 208 pages . It would not matter if the content was of a particularly high quality. Unfortunately, it seems that many feel they are not, at the time of this writing, the book contains 10 one star reviews on Amazon.de, some of which are pretty damning - "It's really a shame for the trees were slaughtered for this book "- only two five-star and three-star. The German magazine Der Spiegel described the book as "a disaster."
Schramm can probably live with criticism (after all, she still has $ 130,000 advance.) What is a little more problematic for his career as one of the most important hackers is the fact that just one day after the publication of the book, his publisher sent a request for referral to a site that hosted a, uh, pirated copy - and its name:
"This file is no longer available due to a deletion request of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of Random House Julia Schramm der authoress."
Given its experience and points raised, some might say that's pretty good, evil ....
