postheadericon Nikon Coolpix S9300 review: Easy to use, so-so performance

On paper, the Nikon Coolpix S9300 pocket megazoom is not very different from its predecessor the highest rating, the Nikon Coolpix S9100. The new S9300 offers the same 18X zoom lens (24mm wide angle to telephoto 450 mm), easy to use and useful post capture editing tools like the S9100. In addition, both devices are intended to point and shoot photographers pure, since neither has manual exposure controls or the ability to capture images in RAW format.
The main changes are the addition Coolpix S9300 camera GPS sensor and a higher resolution (16 megapixels). Unfortunately, the life of the battery of the S9300 is much lower than the S9100, and according to our lab tests, image quality is much worse.

picture quality is one of the strengths of the S9100, the new sensor seems to have an adverse effect on the sharpness and color accuracy. The Coolpix S9300 is still a decent camera MegaZoom travel for those seeking the pure operational simplicity, but it is a sequel that does not match the quality of the original.
Performance quality, picture quality and video
The Coolpix S9100
won among the best brands in the world from any point and shoot camera, we tested last year to test PCWorld Labs' subjective image quality. In contrast, the Coolpix S9300 falls squarely in the middle of the pack. Judges rated its exposure quality is so good and undistorted very good, but the Coolpix S9300 collected tens of color accuracy and sharpness right, which led to his overall score of image quality significantly . Compared to the production of S9100, pictures taken with the test seemed washed S9300 and less dynamic. However, these two problems can be solved by applying the filter to the camera Retouch photos fast review.

In our video tests, the Coolpix S9300 has scored good quality video in general, thanks to the scores in our video tests in well-lit settings. During our tests, the bright light, the test clips taken with 1080p / 30-frames-per-second punchy colors and S9300 showed good contrast, but the movement does not seem particularly smooth captured. In our tests of low brightness, S9300 jack ISO settings, which results video orange lacked sharpness.

Here are the test videos we used for our subjective evaluations. Select 1080p in the menu of each player to see the images in high definition.
