Robots for mankind? This is certainly doesn 't jibe with our vision of the coming apocalypse cyborg. And it shouldn 't when you consider this joint effort' s noble goal is to support the everyday with the housework, most of us off course. The project, a collaboration between Willow Garage and Georgia Tech 's Healthcare Robotics Lab, Henry Evans with stroke victims together to create custom user interfaces that give him to develop mastery of human-assistive robot PR2. These tailor-made, head-tracking interface allows the mute quadriplegic partially shaved his face and even a previously unattainable scratch ten-year itch - all offered friendly with the helping of the claw. It 'sa compassionate use of cybernetic tech we' re used to come to see from Japan, and a welcome support to disabled communities everywhere.
