Solar panels keep greenhouses cooler in summer, let the sun through in winter
Agricultural ULMA consortium of Spain and Tecnalia research center has developed a new type of solar panels for greenhouses which can generate the electricity without negative effect on crops in, while providing air conditioning in summer. The system is designed to take advantage of the annual oscillation - the change in the height of the sun's path across the sky throughout the year. In theory, the solar radiation is not compromised during the winter, but the excess radiation can be diverted to generate electricity during the summer ...
