Who's Still Backing SOPA/PIPA... And Why?
- aa that Senator Leahy and Representative Smith realize they had to be crazy to carry only new bills without being more open about the process. In the meantime, however, there has been much discussion on all elected officials who leave and sponsors - and rightly so, that should be commended. But what about the rest? Sponsoring these bills, although it is widely recognized as toxic ... and what do they think? Here is the list of sponsors SOUP rest, according GovTrack:
- Rep. Lamar Smith
- Mark Amodei
- Joe Baca
- John Barrow
- Karen Bass
- Howard Berman
- Marsha Blackburn
- Mary Bono Mack
- Steven Chabot
- Judy Chu John Conyers,
Jim Cooper
- Ted Deutch
- Elton Gallegly
- Robert Goodlatte
- Peter King
- John Larson
- Thomas Marino
- Alan Nunnelee
- William Owens
- Adam Schiff
- Brad Sherman
- Debbie Wasserman Schultz
- Melvin Watt
- The seven who withdrew were Tim Griffin, Dennis Ross, Terry Lee, John Carter, Steve Scalise, Ben Ray Lujan, Tim Holden and Ben Quayle. Marsha Blackburn seemed to indicate that he was abandoning the bill, but also on the official list. It could be a matter of time, but has been a while since I made the comment.
- On the side of the PIP, the other co-sponsors are Pat Leahy
Lamar Alexander
Jeff Bingaman
, Richard Blumenthal,
Barbara Boxer
Benjamin Cardin
Robert Casey Thad Cochran
