In early 2012, Rovio Entertainment announced that their Angry Birds games have been downloaded more than 1 billion times. But how many people are actively playing? Executive Vice President Andrew Stalbow has provided new data.
"On any given day, we have 20-30m people who play our games online. Void month, we have up to 200 million people who play our games," said Stalbow during an appearance on the conference MIPCOM in Cannes.
In contrast, the social gaming giant Zynga has 306m monthly active users across all its games, according to their latest press release.

The agreement has been in gestation for a year. "We took a step back and thought organization and brand that we love Angry Birds in partnership with," said Stalbow. "Together, we are all massive fans of Star Wars in society."
Rovio is also trying to turn a new franchise Angry Birds, especially with the recent release of Bad Piggies his first match to focus exclusively on the characteristics of pigs from previous games.
"This is a very nice way to start the construction of a new franchise, extending a little beyond our main game" Stalbow said, noting that he had taken three hours after its implementation Bad Piggies topped the charts in the App Store.
- "You see a lot of attention from us in the next year in Bad Piggies expansion franchise."

Stalbow hinted that plans for a movie version of Angry Birds have long been neglected, despite the lack of advertising on this first rumor of a few years ago.
"Hollywood has seen the success of Angry Birds, and Hollywood is hot for our brand, and heat for working with us on many different levels," he said. "For us, the Shortform series is just the beginning of our plans for animation. "
Rovio was compared regularly - most often by the directors of the company - at the beginning of Disney. However, said Stalbow other global brands are an inspiration that Rovio reflects on its future strategy.
