The love affair with British television is increasing despite a dramatic decline in the number of televisions per household, new research has shown.

According to the study this year listening habits of the nation by TV Licensing Authority, the average family now has 1.83 televisions, compared to an average of 2.3 games in 2003 .

However, the good news for the television industry is that the amount of TV viewing per person in the country is increasing due to the increase in online viewing and increasing use of mobile devices such as iPhones.

In fact, the report shows that the average person now sees UK an average of four hours and two minutes of television per day, compared to an average of three hours and 36 minutes per day in 2006.

TV Licensing said the growing popularity of the medium is partly explained by the growth of the online consultation on laptops, tablets and smartphones - which are now owned by 39% of adults in the United States United Kingdom, Ofcom according to recent statistics.

After last year's digital switchover, more people are choosing to use handheld devices to watch instead of television sets in the second bedroom, the report suggests.

The study also includes the first telescope "TeleHappiness Index" survey, which aims to evaluate the emotional commitment of public television. The findings, which surveyed more than 1,000 people, comedy is the kind that brings more happiness in the lives of spectators, with 95% of respondents say they have a greater enjoyment of this kind.

The same study also showed that 80% of people over 65 years found the most fun on television for children, many of them looking to their grandchildren.



More than four-fifths of the population of Wales (82%) are happier watching sports than any other nation or region, while 78% of viewers of East of England are happier watching soap operas and theater soap over the world, the report said.
