Crowdfunding Picks: Throw Trucks With Your Mind & Other Cool Control Interfaces
themselves . For several months now, we have discussed internally the idea of ??a weekly series of something like "top five crowdfunding projects of the week", but in vain. This week, however, we find three different projects, all equally impressive that they should be shared. I hope that we do on a weekly basis, so enjoy.
- are still debated (and debating and discussing) how to call this new section and when to publish this week, we're going with "Selections crowdfunding" and trying on Saturday morning, but we believe that there must be a better name than that - .. and the name should not be "crowdfunding", but could be just the innovation impressive or interesting projects or ... something. So if you have any ideas, please leave them in the comments.
Ware First Latitude is a game called Trucks Take your mind!
And yes, the name is quite descriptive (Latitude jokes we imagine a world in which
Call of Duty have connected a device off the shelf NeuroSky EEG (which can be purchased for around $ 80) the game is in development, and there are different things you can do in the game based on how
centered
and how
calm
you - both measured by NeuroSky. Travel and select where telekinetic power is via the keyboard. But looking at a truck and throw it to crush your enemies is incredibly rewarding. You can also do other things like lifting, throwing, jumping and super "slow." As evidence of fun, Lat has to jump off a cliff and falls more slowly if you stay calm, but if you get excited to fall faster and die. This is an interesting mental battle to try to stay calm when starts to fall faster and faster on a cliff.
The game itself is very approximate pre-alpha version, built in the Unreal Development Kit. however Kickstarter project objective is to bring a team of kick ass video games to become a very different visual experience that is much more whimsical and fun (there is a certain art Kickstarter page model). NeuroSky You can buy a separate device or has a level, but I I need to play the game - you can limit the number of people who can play from the beginning. now the game is half funded ($ 40,000 Latitude are looking for), but it is certainly one of those things that feels as if it was the future, and will take you to think of all the interesting things that will be possible before too long, but this example concerns the use of the mind to launch monster trucks to your friends .well go beyond the ability to launch trucks with your mind and start thinking about how to control your computer with simple gestures, and then check the device MYO it which has generated a lot of attention, mainly because of their amazing videos highlighting a single cuff can create all sorts of useful gesture controls.
For about a year, there has been a lot of buzz around the device gesture Motion Control fees Jumping, MYO, but can be just as intriguing, supposedly recognize the different muscle movements in the arm so that you can make things very easily. As it is a bracelet, you can connect to desktop computers, but also mobile phones or (possibly) something like Google glass. The possibilities are virtually endless.
first saw the video, one of the first things I tell someone that I have not been surprised MYO strays Kick because it has the
feel
aa> a Kickstarter project. However, apparently, decided to go it alone, and it works. The site allows people to pre-order for $ 149 MYO device and a few days later, they say they have received more than 10,000 orders, 1.5 million. Not bad.
