When approaching the milestone of 1 million applications, smartphone and tablet app stores allow users stuck in thick forests and unknown. That Google and Apple are waiting? Last week, Google has made the following announcement:

Mountain View, February 24, 2013 -

In an industry that owes a lot to Steve Jobs, we remember this day there, the 58th anniversary of his birth, with great sadness, but also with gratitude. Among the many accomplishments of Steve, we would particularly like to emphasize the Apple App Store, the software vendor venerable iPhone.

Launched in 2008, the App Store is a natural and obvious descendant of iTunes. What is not clear or App Store should act as a catalyst for a market segment that transform the iPhone from smartphones simple phone application

. This transformation gave a huge boost to the global mobile phone, a pulse that benefits all and Google the most.

But despite the success of the Phone application, there is no doubt that mobile application stores today, including our own Google Play, poorly healed. Nobody seems to care, no liability for claims review and classification, there is no explanation of the criteria to enter the "Editors' Choice" schedule categorization is superficial and chaotic.

Today, we want to correct this failure and, at the same time pay tribute to Steve clever idea with the announcement of a new service: Google Play Red Guide. Powered by Human Resources and the Google team, clients attend Red Guide identify trees as they wander through the forest of Android. The Red Guide will provide a new level of usability and fun for users - and increase revenue opportunities for application developers

Google Play Red Guide, we will put an end to the era of the App Store unknown, undocumented, and poorly monitored mobile.

Guide Rouge is named after another great high-tech company, Michelin. At the turn of the 20th century, Michelin was necessary to promote the automobile transport in order to boost sales of tires. It is designed, developed and published large maps, something everyone can relate to. To go further, Michelin released Red Guide , a collection of hotels and restaurants. One hundred years later, the Michelin Red Guide is still considered the standard of the world, its inspectors are anonymous and incorruptible so that their views are taken seriously. Same price Lone Star (three) can put a restaurant otherwise unknown on the map - literally

Our Red Guide includes the following:

• "Hello world", a list of essential applications for the Android client for the first time (or iPhone apostate) with tips, guides and FAQ.

• "Hot and Not". Reviews of new applications and updates -. And the occasional downgrade

• "We believe." This is the heart of the guide, a catalog of reviews written by a small group of Google employees who have access to the huge population reproduction hotline Google internal experts in the field. Comments will be divided into sections. Productivity e-learning, games, Art and Creativity, Communication, food and beverage, health care, spirituality, travel, entertainment, civic education and philanthropy, Google glass, with subcategories for each

Our own participation in the review of applications for Android is a novel - perhaps even controversial - approach, but it is necessary. We could have taken the easy way: Allows users and third parties to provide criticism. But others are sometimes questionable motives, resources are being rapidly depleted. And with the Android store inventory rapidly approaching a million titles, our users deserve a trustworthy guide, a consistent voice for them to adapt to the application.

Guy at the helm, you can expect the same dedication and monastic unlimited resources we deploy when we created Google Maps.

In each
