Amazon teases with a new Christmas campaign as pushing the tongue-in-cheek 101 uses for a Dead Kindle.

Adrian Searle (no relation to the art critic of The Guardian) shows cartoons showing different ways to recycle a Kindle when it reaches the end of his life - a chastity belt, cricket box and eye patch are some suggestions. It is one of the top five songs voted by the main street booksellers, as an alternative to impact this Christmas more evident in Jamie Oliver's latest book. The books were chosen by more than 200 independent bookstores - especially - with Horologicon Mark Forsyth, a "walk" through the lost words of the English language, by a majority vote
